Stormwater Sr. Project Manager

$100K + depending upon experience and / qualifications. Company vehicle and fuel card provided.

Project Manager will report to the Operations Manager.

Our projects cover much of the State of Colorado and central Wyoming.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • Good driving record
  • 7-10 years of Stormwater and or Construction project management experience e.g. budgeting, change orders, pay applications, etc.
  • Experience in sediment & erosion control and/or restoration industry preferred
  • Proficiency using computers & mobile devices
  • Good knowledge of state and local construction stormwater regulatory requirements a plus
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and work prioritization skills

General Responsibilities

  • Consistently and accurately weighs risks versus rewards to the benefit of the Company in legal and financial ways and protects the Company’s good reputation in all ways.
  • Actively seeks new opportunities for the Company by meeting and developing strong relationships with industry members outside the Company.
  • Reviews estimates, schedules, and scope of work prior to and during a project and brings any potential conflicts with Company work capacity, goals or practices to the attention of management.
  • Reviews contracts awarded to the Company to ensure that the contract reflects the submitted proposal and brings any exceptions to the attention of management.
  • Maintains good working relationships with Company personnel, owners, clients, subcontractors, regulators, and suppliers.
  • Consults with company personnel, clients, suppliers, or other individuals to discuss and formulate project plans and resolve issues.
  • Verifies Estimator’s material take-offs, bill of materials and required equipment for each job which includes materials and supplies to be purchased for the job, as well as the equipment that will be needed to timely complete the project.
  • Supports Company estimating and cost history systems and procedures, including related workbooks, spreadsheets, and reporting forms.
  • Prepares billings and billing breakdowns in accordance with requirements of the customer and to aid the Company’s accounting department and progress billing process.
  • Prepares preliminary field budgets and monthly cost/revenue projections for each project based on the final estimate and submits to Construction Manager and/or Office Manager for input into the job cost accounting system and for transmittal to management.

Job Specific Responsibilities

  • Assures that all federal, state and local laws and regulations are followed including, but not limited to, EPA, DOT, CDPHE, OSHA, DOL regulations on each project under his/her supervision.
  • Ensures that job quality meets or exceeds the project plans, specifications, codes, approved drawings and client expectations.
  • Performs or delegates all steps for final closeout of jobs, including lien waivers and affidavits, warranties, test reports, inspections, change orders, final billings, and retainage.
  • Ensures that each job or project is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensures that an adequate quality control function is provided to maintain customer satisfaction, regulatory approval, and to minimize re-work costs. Resolves all customer service issues as they occur.
  • Ensures that the job schedule and related manpower resources are prepared timely and reviewed with the Construction manager and/or management. Revises as necessary due to unforeseen changes such as client/owner schedule changes, weather impacts and other conditions.
  • Participates in and represents the Company appropriately in meetings with Owners, clients, subcontractors, regulators, suppliers, engineers, and others involved in client projects.
  • Responsible for project communications, meetings, and coordination.
  • Responsible for project documentation of correspondence, records, paperwork, drawings, as-builts, submittals, etc.
  • Assures that regulatory, permit, and utility locate obligations, as may be required for the project, are secured prior to Company mobilization on the site.
  • Ensures all pre-construction services, including project coordination, pre-ordering, value-engineering, Company capacity, and all aspects of project scheduling are properly handled.
  • Distributes plans, specifications, guidance and special conditions to subcontractors, suppliers, and internal personnel.
  • Obtains all drawing submittals from suppliers and sub-contractors for approval of engineer, regulatory agency, or customer, as required.
  • Monitors the results of all regulatory inspections to ensure proper documentation, follow-up, and close-out.
  • Coordinates scheduling of labor, material, equipment, and tool requirements for each job.
  • Ensures that non-incidental tools and equipment are available on the job site when required.
  • Responsible for change order estimating, execution, and any related Company commitments. Prepares change orders based on proposal requests from the customer.
  • Responsible for timely project cost and revenue reporting input and analysis for weekly cash flow projections related to projects.
  • Either personally or by delegation, sets up all project documentation including but not limited to work orders, labor reporting, supplier purchase orders, purchase receipts, etc.
  • Ensures timely submittal of all required documentation, including documentation from the field.
  • Monitors project performance with respect to the schedule, cost, and quality of work and keeps management apprised on major problems and proposed solutions.
  • Analyzes and reports to management on costs of completed jobs in relation to original budget projections.
  • Continually evaluates current procedures and modifies as needed to ensure continual improvement in Company performance.
